About ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems (QMS) — it covers defined and repeatable processes, document and change control, and ongoing verification and improvement.

Our Current Position

Aligned with, not certified to, ISO 9001

Agend is not currently certified to ISO 9001. The information below describes controls we have in place that align with ISO 9001 principles — it is not a certification claim.

We maintain a number of practices consistent with a quality management approach:

  • Defined, repeatable development process: changes to our products follow a documented Software Development Policy with defined stages from requirements through design, coding, testing, implementation, and post-implementation review, including checklists and mandatory code review before release.
  • Document and change control: product specifications and database migrations are version-controlled, ordered, and checked for drift as part of our release process.
  • Verification and testing: automated test suites (unit, end-to-end, and database-level tests) run before changes are released.
  • Management review and continuous improvement: every completed project goes through a documented Project Review — outcomes are logged in a Project Review Findings register, categorised against a fixed set of recurring quality and process themes (e.g. estimation accuracy, scope creep, testing gaps), and reviewed monthly with leadership so recurring issues get identified and acted on. This is our management-review and quality-trend-reporting mechanism, though it is not yet formally mapped against the ISO 9001 clause structure.

Known gaps against full ISO 9001 certification: our management review and quality-tracking process (above) is not yet formally structured against ISO 9001's specific clause requirements, and our Software Development Policy is due for its scheduled periodic review. Closing these gaps is on our roadmap.

Notably, Agend's own Quality Management System product (part of Agend Product Suite) is used by our clients to run their own ISO 9001 quality programs — we use comparable internal practices ourselves, though this is distinct from Agend itself holding ISO 9001 certification.
